Over the last three years, the facility has served more than 116,000 veterans in Central Florida
This Veterans Day, we not only thank our military veterans for serving our county, we also thank the Orlando VA Medical Center for serving our veterans.Â
Over the last three years, the facility has served more than 116,000 veterans in Central Florida. Here’s a look at what makes the center and its services so special.
The Orlando VA Medical Center includes a large multi-specialty outpatient clinic, 134-inpatient beds, 120-community living center beds, a 60-bed domiciliary and administrative and support services. Home to the SimLEARN National Simulation Center, the campus provides innovative technologies where medical professionals learn best practices to improve health care for our nation’s veterans. The center also serves as a teaching hospital and partners with the UCF College of Medicine.
From primary to specialized care, veterans have access to services they need most including mental health care, 3D mammograms, prosthetics, dental care, support groups and more. Services for female veterans recently expanded with the addition of a lactation room, renovated GYN procedure room and other clinic improvements.
While receiving treatment, veteran families can stay close to their loved ones and free of charge at Fisher House Orlando, a 16-suite nonprofit facility located on campus.
Outside the center, local partnerships offer ways for veterans to stay active. For example, the nearby USTA National Campus provides a military tennis program where veterans can learn and play at no cost.
From the inside out, the Orlando VA Medical Center goes the extra mile to ensure veterans receive the quality care they need.
