A new bike share program is blooming in Lake Nona, featuring dozens of bikes planted throughout the community. This new program is part the larger Move Nona initiative to provide residents and visitors with a variety of efficient and interconnected ways to get around our community.
Using a Move Nona bike is quick and easy with the Bloom Bikes app, available for Apple and Android. How do you get started? To help you get rolling, we’ve answered a few need-to-know questions about the new bike share program.

1. Where can I find a bike?
The new bikes can be picked up and dropped off daily between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. at designated Move Nona bike share locations throughout Lake Nona. Each stop will feature a Move Nona sign (just like the ones you see at the autonomous shuttle stops) and a floor decal that outlines where the bikes should be placed once your ride is over.
For now, stop locations include Lake Nona Town Center, Pixon Apartments, Laureate Park Village Center, Crescent Park, Ribbon Park, Guidewell Innovation Center and the Gatherings of Lake Nona. We look forward to adding more bikes and stop locations as the program expands.
The Move Nona bikes are NOTÂ electric-assisted like other bike share programs you may have used in Orlando, nor can they be dropped off anywhere in the community (e.g. in front of your house, on sidewalks, etc.).
The bike range is limited to the Lake Nona community and bikes must be returned to a designated Move Nona bike share location in order for your session to end.
2. How do I rent a bike?
Start by downloading the Bloom Bikes app, creating your account and selecting the Lake Nona Network. From there, head to one of the designated Move Nona bike share locations, scan the QR code on the bike to unlock it and you’re ready to ride.
During the initial launch period, there is no cost to use the bikes and a two-hour limit on usage. The bikes are available for riders 16 years and older. Helmets, while not required, are strongly recommended and there are no seats for children available at this time.
3. How do I return a bike?
At the end of your ride, park the bike at a designated Move Nona bike share location. Next, swipe to end your ride in the app and manually close the lock above the back wheel. Once you lock the back wheel, the app will ask you to take a picture of the closed lock to verify the end of your ride.
