Live music, flower crowns, and the spirit of sustainability — Lake Nona Live’s Earth Day music festival rocked the lawn next to the Lake Nona Wave Hotel on Saturday, April 22, with Grammy award-winning headliner Daya and concert-goers reveling into the night.
This one-day, family-friendly festival rivaled the fun and excitement of the most popular music festivals around, including a lineup of local bands bringing vibrant music to the scene. The tunes started in the early evening and didn’t stop for six hours, featuring local singer-songwriter Burdlee, Ecuadorian sister trio Just Imagin3, Jad Saad, Orlando platinum-certified artist John K and national pop sensation, Daya, who closed out the night with her hit songs “Sit Still, Look Pretty” and “Don’t Let Me Down.”
When guests arrived, they made their Earth Day pledges to give back to the planet in chalk of all colors: be more mindful of energy usage, use reusable water bottles, and grow trees and plants were just a few. Together, these promises made a beautiful display of intention and love for our Earth.
Bomb Blooms brought the flower power with pre-made flower crowns and arrangements of fresh posies. Next to that tent, guests added gold and silver metallic temporary tattoos to their look, in true festival fashion.
Savory food and refreshing drinks from local food trucks like the Treehouse Truck and Betta’s Pizza kept the energy up, and icy desserts from Bahama Buck’s Original Shaved Ice Company and Kelly’s Homemade Ice Cream kept everyone cool. Yum!
Stilt walkers dressed up in flower costumes, botanical photo wall, groovy truck and other insta-worthy spots made for the perfect selfie with friends. Between lawn games of LED cornhole, giant Jenga, ping-pong and dancing all afternoon long, the good vibes kept rolling in.
Coca-Cola and the Orlando Magic also made appearances, equipped with new merchandise, photo ops, and even an exclusive tasting opportunity of the limited-edition Coca-Cola Move. This event was the first of our exciting partnership with Coca-Cola and the debut of Coca-Cola Move.
As music-lovers kicked off their shoes, laid down blankets, unfolded lounge chairs and watched the sun set behind the Lake Nona Wave Hotel, the fun didn’t stop. After the event, ticket-holders headed over to Boxi Park for an unforgettable after party.
It was definitely a night to remember. Thank you to everyone who made this idea a reality. Check out the recap video below!
