Annual event raised thousands to support Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Florida
Thirty-eight teams, thousands of participants, and dozens of volunteers joined the 10th Annual Ride-For-Ronald across Lake Nona, raising awareness and $215,000 for the 2,700 families who turn to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Florida (RMH) each year.
RMH operates three houses in Central Florida, including one at Nemours Children’s Hospital, where families find a home-away-from-home at no cost where they can stay close to their children receiving critical care at local medical facilities.
For the first time this year, the ride included a 5K Run/Walk along Lake Nona Boulevard in addition to the 10-, 30- and 60-mile bike ride paths plus a 3.5-mile Family Fun Ride all starting and ending in Lake Nona Town Center.
Bolay and Olive Garden provided delicious food for all participants and kids enjoyed games, face painting, Kona Ice and more.
Team Tavistock came in third for team fundraising bringing in nearly $13,000! In addition to Ride-For-Ronald, Tavistock volunteers throughout the year with the Share-A-Meal program benefiting families at the RMH on the Nemours Children’s Hospital campus.
