Lake Nona West could soon add a big-box home improvement store, which GrowthSpotter expects to be Home Depot, after Tavistock Development Company filed a Specific Parcel Master Plan with the City of Orlando for a 140,000-square-foot hardware store on vacant land just east of the new lifestyle center. The LJA Engineering site plan shows a single retail building of up to 150,000 square feet on 15.6 acres, with 570 parking spaces. GrowthSpotter notes that only two home improvement chains operate stores that size, and with a Lowe’s already on Narcoossee Road, that leaves Home Depot, whose closest store is about 10 miles away in the Lee Vista area. The store would be one of three new Home Depot locations in Central Florida’s development pipeline, alongside sites in Davenport and Horizon West. The article also notes that Lake Nona West, one of the largest new retail centers in Florida at 405,000 square feet, opened its first store in May, followed by a Target Superstore anchor on July 26, with more openings scheduled later this year.
