Arts & Experiences Fee

Encompassing 17-square-miles and located adjacent to the Orlando International Airport, Lake Nona is a community of the future with a focus on technology, innovation and public all coming together to provide unique experiences throughout.

When you’re in Lake Nona, you can see and feel an energy not found anywhere else.

From its transformative Lake Nona Medical City, where research facilities work together with the country’s leading hospitals and educational institutions, to the nightly activities and special events that position it among the most programmed community in the country, Lake Nona is among the most sought-after places to live, work, play and learn.

A Central Florida shopping and entertainment destination, Lake Nona Town Center has a distinct pulse where residents and visitors gather to enjoy the very best of the community, public arts and unique experiences, alongside the restaurants, boutiques, hotels and event venues that inspire and delight.

Effective April 2023, Lake Nona will implement an Arts & Experiences Fee (A&E) on the sales of taxable goods and services within select commercial areas in the community. The fee is a 1% surcharge on sales up to the first $5,000. The fee will appear on each receipt.

The A & E fee will be initially applied in businesses within and surrounding Lake Nona Town Center that sell goods and services which are subject to Florida State tax. The fee only applies to those taxable goods and services. As Lake Nona continues to grow, the A & E fee may be implemented in more areas within the community.

The A&E Fee will provide a sustainable source of funds that will help ensure the continuation and growth of extraordinary public infrastructure and enhanced experiences within the shopping, dining and entertainment areas of the community. These events, experiences and enhancements will continue to uniquely position Lake Nona as a premiere destination, bolstering a robust and thriving environment for residents, visitors, businesses, and partners to flourish.
