Here’s a look at some of the new projects underway in Lake Nona
There’s always something new going on in Lake Nona – families moving in, businesses opening, students heading to school, and plenty of new projects in development.
And while new projects are easy to spot when buildings begin to rise, it takes a lot of time and careful consideration to make the plan become a reality. The Lake Nona team has been working hard to plan out the next phase of development for our community primarily concentrated in the area south of Laureate Park. New projects include residential and retail offerings, public schools and parks, new roads and infrastructure, public art and more.
Here’s an overview on what new development to expect in Lake Nona south of Laureate Park over the next 3-5 years:
Lake Nona Greenwood and Concorde Apartments
Located at the southwestern corner of Laureate Blvd and Narcoossee Road, Lake Nona Greenwood is a new retail hub for the community and will feature a 7-Eleven, Tijuana Flats, Little Gym, Meson Sandwiches, Wash City Car Wash, Noire Nail Bar, and more upon opening this fall. Located adjacent to the new shops and restaurants at Lake Nona Greenwood, a new apartment community known as Concorde will open in 2023. The gated community will feature 306 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments.
Laureate Park Expansion
Laureate Park will offer 200 new lots starting in 2022. New amenities including a community garden, playground, and trails connecting the to the northern section of the neighborhood are planned.
The Laureate Park expansion will also add a new gated neighborhood called Laurel Pointe. The Toll Brothers development will include 124 one-and two-story, single family estate homes. The Laurel Pointe sales center and model homes are under construction with sales starting in early 2022.
Summerdale Park
Located north of Boggy Creek Road, Summerdale Park is Lake Nona’s newest residential community with 208 single-family homes.
Model homes are currently under construction with sales set to begin in early 2022.
Orange County Public Schools and City of Orlando Park
Two new Orange County Public Schools, an elementary and middle school, are also planned. The middle school is scheduled to open in 2024 and the elementary school is scheduled to open in 2026.
A new, 14-acre City of Orlando Community Park is being planned adjacent to the new elementary and middle schools.
Lake Nona Vertiport
Lake Nona will become the country’s first regional hub for electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft by 2025.
Known as the Lake Nona Vertiport, the first-of-its-kind aviation facility will serve as the central location for a regional mobility network in Florida designed to usher in a new era of city-to-city transportation.
Roads
New roadways are being constructed throughout Lake Nona to support the continued growth of the community. These new transportation corridors include:
- Selten Way
- A north-south road that will connect Laureate Park Blvd to Luminary Blvd and provide access to the Concorde apartment community.
- Luminary Blvd
- An east-west arterial road connecting Laureate Blvd in the Medical City area with Laurel Pointe and Narcoossee Road.
- Centerline Drive
- A north-south road that will connect Kellogg Ave to Luminary Blvd and continue south to Boggy Creek Road.
And that’s not all! In addition to new projects in the works in the southern part of Lake Nona, there are plenty of other developments in progress throughout the community including the Lake Nona Wave Hotel, One Performance Plaza, and more.
